Poor Sick Mao

Poor Mao got a small ear infection, and because of that he kept scratching at his neck. He was itching his neck so bad he got what is called a hot spot, which is like a sore on his neck from scratching it so much. He had to take an antibiotic, which in order to get him to take we had to wrap the pill in turkey, but when we did that he didn't even chew the pill he would just inhale it. We also had to rub a cream in his ear and on his sore to prevent an infection. The poor guy kept itching his neck so we had to get this cone and when he would wear it he had horrible depth perception and kept running into walls and doors and he couldn't understand that it was becasue of the huge cone he had around his head. Luckily he has healed nicely and is feeling much better but, I will admit I kind of liked having to put him in that cone it was pretty entertaining to watch him try to walk around with that thing!

Mao's Halloween

This is Mao in his super cute pumpkin halloween costume. He would not look at me when I was taking this picture because Josh was on the couch being very distracting. He said this was a frilly girl dog costume, but I know it was for boy dogs because Mao looks so cute in it, and I think he just wanted to look more manly in front of Josh.
This is the first picture I took of Mao and as you can see Mao is just chillin in his costume he didn't mind being in this costume at all when it was just me around. I also like how this picture is with his long hair and the other one is him with his short hair after his new hair cut.
This is a picture I told Amy I would take of the pillows she made for us for a wedding present, she just gave them to us about a week ago...but I do like them they go great with our house and as you can see Mao likes them as well.

The one and only...James Hong

I was recently in Orlando, Florida attending XANGO's 8th anniversary convention at the beautiful Gaylord Palms Resort and while I was there I ran into the one and only James Hong. And though you may not know him by name you are sure to recognize the face that has graced scenes in movies and television since the 1950's, shows like Seinfeld & Waynes World, and character voices in Disneys Mulan & Kung Fu Panda among many others. My most memorable James Hong role was, of course, David Lo Pan from "Big Trouble in Little China." I asked him to autograph one of his 8x10 glossies of that character which is now proudly hanging above my computer at work.

I Can't Believe I am 24!

I can't believe that it is my birthday again. I am now 24 years old! Josh planned an amazing day we went to this great little family farm where they had all these farm animals and we got to go out in their field and actually pick our own pumpkins. Then we went to my favorite place Olive Garden to eat dinner, and went and saw a movie of which I will not mention the name but it used to be a show on MTV and it was pretty funny. I had a great birthday and it was all thanks to my fav guy Josh!

This was a cute dog wandering around the farm that reminded me of mao cause she was waddling but we found out it was not because she was old she was just very pregnant.

This was me with the pony's they had to ride but the guy said that was only for kids, so I was a little disappointed.

This is Josh showing off his muscles by carrying the pumpkins we picked through the patch.

This was a hive of bees which I thought was weird cause I had never seen them before and you can't really tell cause we were kind of far away but I just didn't want to get any closer.

This was just a cute bunny!

These were pigs they had to look at, and I just thought the sign was pretty funny!

This was another first, we saw this great big turkey and realized we had never seen a real one before so that was fun.

The Hike

Last Saturday Josh, Toad, and I went on a little 3.5 mile hike. Mao was detained by business and was not able to join us but he said next time for sure. It was super fun, and really pretty. Josh suggested it the thursday before and I was pretty surprised when he actually went and didn't even try to pull the sick card. It was fun and hopefully we can do another one soon.

I have decided my new thing will be pictures of signs so when I saw this sign on the hike I had to take a pic.

The description of this hike said these are supposed to be the most photogenic waterfalls in Utah and I would definitely say they were very pretty.

This is Josh's new go to pose he wants to start his modeling portfolio and I think this would be a great first picture.

The Great Baseball Game

We had a very fun weekend last weekend. We were able to go to a Salt Lake Bees Baseball game. The Bees didn't win the game, but the fact that we were at a baseball game wasn't even the fun part of the night the best part was when Josh was able to get a picture with the new Jazz power forward Al Jefferson! I am a little disappointed in my self because I turned the flash off earlier and when I took the picture of Josh with Al, as I like to call him, it was pretty blurry but it is a real picture and it was amazing!

There was also a Bald Eagle who was trying to fly away the whole time the national anthem was being sung.

Some fireworks that were super loud I thought I was going to be deaf by the end.

This is Al Jefferson relaxing watching the baseball game.

And the best part Josh with Al who is 6'10" and I am pretty sure right at this moment Josh was wetting his pants!

The Best Concert EVER!!!

Yesterday my favorite band 311 came to Utah in concert. I have been waiting to go to their concert for about 5 years and something always came up till this year. It was so much fun I loved all the songs they played and we had a great time!

There were alot of people that were hurt in some way, but apparently are such big fans they weren't going to miss the concert no matter what. Like this kid with his neck brace.

And this kid who had a little wheelie cart for his broken leg.

Then there was this lady and yes that is a thong you see. About 5 songs into the concert she came crawling (literally) out of the crowd and collapsed on our blanket. Her and her boyfriend were on something and she went a little too crazy I guess. She wasn't responding and they had to call the EMT's who finally had to carry her out. We didn't know what happened to her, but when we were leaving after the concert was over we saw her sitting on the side of the road looking totally normal it was crazy!

This is the best picture we got of the band cause we were not close at all, but it was good because we didn't have to deal with all the crowds, and we were able to dance and jump around as much as we wanted.

Those lights in the bacground are the stage like I said we weren't close but I still loved every minute!

Our American Fork City Hike

We decided to do a 3 mile hike last Saturday, but it was not in the mountains on some random trail it was through the totally awesome city of American Fork! We found a small bakery about a mile and a half from our house and just decided to explore the city and walk there. We had so much fun walking around and now I know more than two roads around my house. We didn't take Mao because he was busy that day, and I forgot to take my camera but I drove around later and took some pictures of the cool things we saw so at least we would have some thing to show for our travels. So if you have any questions about the city of American Fork feel free to ask because we are now experts on it!

This is a cute little antique shop we stopped in to check out. We found one of those cool books here that is actually a box to store special things in then hide in a library to look like just another book, but then we realized we don't have anything special to put in there or a library so we didn't get it.

This is the bakery we based the trip around it is called FlourgirlDoughboy (and yes I think it is one word) and we had a great breakfast sandwich at 1pm. So if you are looking for some delicious food in or around American Fork you should try this place it was very yummy!

This was an old church building we happened upon. We found out it was built in 1903 and that is when the American Fork first ward was made which is our ward and they met in this building until it was bough by a family that still lives there today and they build those big Organ's that are in all our churches. We were just so surprised to find this really old church in the middle of the city surrounded by homes.

Provo Canyon Walk

Yesterday we took Mao for a short walk up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls. He was super excited at first, but as soon as he realized there were lots of other dogs and he would have to excersise he wasn't so happy. We still had a good walk and I know Mao loves all the attention he gets. Everyone that passed would look at him and say how cute he is. Everyone loves Mao!

Our California Trip

We just got back from an awesome trip to California. First we visited Toad in Redlands where we were going to get some pizza at some fancy pants pizza place but unfortunately it was closed and we may never get the chance to go back (unless of course we lose our house and have to move in with Toad.) Next we headed to Disneyland for three days and then we got to go stay with Josh's Sister and family in San Diego. We had so much fun,it was so good to go down there and get some sun and relax a little. Thanks Toad for the tour of Redlands we loved that cool little town and thanks Nicholle, Shaun and Family for letting us stay with you and for all the fun we had!

And of course a visit to the Pacific Ocean which is still an amazing sight to see
